1904 Kollektiv is a House and Techno music event production and promotions group.

This project provided a typography and content heavy challenge. The difficulty is that the artists are the selling point of this event, so it’s important to be able to identify their brand immediately, while still absorbing the rest of the information. I chose to use the array of fonts to my advantage, showcasing them as artistic elements, instead of hiding them in the design. The careful balance of typography with simple, but interesting, imagery, and minimal color speaks to aesthetics of the techno community.

FOR THE LOVE OF HOUSE MUSIC

This was designed for a spring music series. We decided to use flower imagery, then implement the same treatment on each design, with the exception of the Fat Thursday edition. While using the same technique for that design, it stands alone as a special edition. The delicate flowers in contrast with the harsh typography, creates a balanced design. The purpose of these designs are to inform followers and potential attendees of upcoming events within the industry, while representing the brand as authentic and progressive.

ADDITIONAL EVENT FLYERS

Epoch Afterhours and Festival Pre-Game were special edition events. Epoch catered to the afterhours nightlife of downtown San Diegans, looking for a more authentic and raw event. Festival Pre-Game was a coporate event for residents of a luxury apartment community in Downtown San Diego. The clear contrast of the event flyers show 1904's range and ability to pull in various audiences.

RESPONSIVE WEB DESIGN

Currently still in the design process, these mockups and wireframs convey the strategy for the responsive web design we will be rolling out. Being an event production and promotions company, the main focus of the website are the events. We wanted users to be able to easily locate upcoming events, validate previous events, engage with our media and effortlessly purchase tickets.
